Small steam generator

that runs off firewood. Seems like a good idea to me, what am I not considering? Market too small for mass production?

i think the worst part is is you need some sort of boiler certificate that says you know how to run one that might only be true for australia though?

otherwise i would love to own one

I figured with today's tech they could have a design that was idiot proof with overload valves or something, but maybe not.

Google "mike brown steam engines"

Very inefficient, but if all the fuel you have is solid combustibles - very useful.

You'll get more efficiency by converting the wood into wood gas, and running a generator with it. Plus, it gives you a lot of charcoal.

Not too bad if you are using the waste combustion heat for home heating.

Re: Small steam generator

Unclad Lad - That would be less efficient - you need heat to produce the gas, conversion losses are the problem.

The problem is it's easier still to come up with an improved idiot.
